Welcome to Kortz Museum

To ensure that every visitor can enjoy our exhibitions in a safe, inspiring, and respectful environment, we kindly ask that you follow the guidelines outlined below. These practices help preserve the integrity of the artwork, create a pleasant experience for all guests, and foster a welcoming atmosphere where art can be appreciated to its fullest.

1. Respect the Art

  • Please refrain from touching any artwork, installations, or exhibits. Our pieces are preserved for the enjoyment of all and may be fragile.
  • Only get close for viewing, not touching, to help preserve each piece’s beauty and integrity.

2. Photography Etiquette

  • Non-flash photography is generally permitted unless otherwise noted. However, certain exhibitions may restrict photography to protect sensitive artwork, so please check signage or ask a gallery attendant.
  • No video recording, live-streaming, or commercial photography without prior approval.
  • Be mindful of other visitors when taking photos, avoiding blocking exhibits or crowding popular pieces.

3. Device Usage and Social Media

  • Silence or turn off mobile phones and other devices to maintain a peaceful ambiance.
  • We encourage you to share your experience on social media! However, please respect the privacy of others and avoid taking photos or videos of people without their permission.
  • Use #Kortz and tag us to connect with our community and discover more about our exhibitions.

4. Engage Respectfully with Others

  • Avoid loud conversations and keep voices low to preserve the gallery’s quiet atmosphere.
  • Feel free to discuss art with others but be considerate of those who prefer a solitary experience.
  • Refrain from using offensive language, and respect everyone’s opinions and backgrounds.

5. Maintain a Safe and Clean Space

  • Keep food, drinks, and large bags outside the museum space to protect the artwork.
  • Dispose of any waste properly, and please don’t litter or leave personal items unattended.
  • In case of emergencies, follow the museum staff’s instructions calmly and promptly.

6. Be Mindful of Space and Flow

  • Avoid blocking pathways or exits and keep traffic flowing smoothly, especially during busy times.
  • Be conscious of personal space, allowing others to approach and view each artwork comfortably.

7. Engage with Exhibits Carefully

  • If an exhibit is interactive, please engage respectfully and within the guidelines posted.
  • For those exhibits that invite personal interaction, take turns and be gentle with any movable or adjustable parts.

8. Respect Museum Staff and Volunteers

  • Our team is here to help enhance your visit. Please feel free to approach them with questions or requests, and show respect for their guidance and rules.
  • If you have any questions about specific pieces, feel free to inquire—they are happy to share additional insights when available.
